Paying by check? See the Frequently Asked Questions below for details.
Already registered? Manage your account using the Account Manager.
Register to play The Hundred Years War in two easy steps. First, create a new account (credit card customers only; see below if you're paying by check) by inputting some personal information, including your account's master alias and password, which is the information you use to access your account after you have created it. Second, add an alias, through the Account Manager, to your account as many times as you'd like. You're not charged per alias, so please be sure to get as many as you need within reason. NOTE: when you enter a new alias, you may be asked for your account's master alias and password, so keep that information handy.
How much does The Hundred Years War cost?
The regular fee for The Hundred Years War is US$5.95 per character per month.
How do I pay by check?
The preferred method of payment is by credit card--Visa, MasterCard,
or American Express. You may also pay by check, but it is more difficult to ensure
quality of service when checks are involved. We suggest you prepay at least three months in
advance and send your check at least 15 days before the end of each billing period.
If you must pay by check, print out a copy of
this form and
send it to us, with your check, at the address listed on the form. You may not use the on-line
registration form if you are paying by check.
Are there any discounts available?
Yes. We give discounts for buying more HYW time at once by credit card.
The normal billing plan is monthly, which means we'll debit your account every month.
You may also choose to be billed every three, six, or twelve months,
with payment due in advance.
If you pay your account in advance every three months, we'll discount your bill by 5%.
Pay every six months, get a 10% discount. Pay every year in advance, get 15%.
These discounts do not apply to customers who are paying by check.
Do I pay per alias/screen name?
No. You can have as many HYW aliases (an alias is what some people call a "screen name")
as you want. You pay based on the number of characters you want to play.
Wait a second. Wasn't there an additional charge of US$3.95 somewhere?
At one point we did consider charging more for the first character than for
subsequent characters. For a variety of reasons we dropped that plan.
How do you know how many characters I'm playing?
Simple--you tell us. If you buy four characters, for instance, you will be able to join
up to four games (or be able to have up to four characters in a single game, or any
combination thereof).
What if I don't play as many characters as I paid for?
To keep bookkeeping simple, we charge you for the number of character "slots" you buy.
Whether you play that many characters or not is up to you. We encourage you to actively
play the game and use as many slots as you've paid for. If you find yourself consistently
playing less characters than you have purchased, you may change your account to a lower
number of characters and we'll bill you accordingly.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You may cancel your account at any time. However, we cannot refund money for
unused time. If you pay for a month and cancel halfway into it, your credit card will
still show a bill for the whole month.
Will there be refunds for "Acts of God?"
No. Since HYW is charged by the month, not by the hour, we will not refund money for
service outages, missed updates, or any other reason. However, we will continue to reimburse
players in game terms for opportunities lost due to system malfunctions or human error.
